It’s getting to be that time of year when I take down our Christmas cards. Any photo cards get posted up so we can see them year round. And sentimental cards get saved. But all the others are getting shipped out for repurposing.
St. Jude’s Ranch in Nevada is a refuge home to thousands of neglected children. They have an entrepreneurial program for the children that repurposes used Christmas cards (and any greeting card, for that matter) into new cards.
You can donate cards to the program and even purchase the new cards that are made from those used cards!
This is one upcycle project to which I am happy to donate materials instead of upcycling them myself.
Maybe you’ve already taken your Christmas cards down. (I’m a little behind, I’ll admit.) If not, please consider sending them to St. Jude’s Ranch.
You can find more information here on their website.
Do you know of another charity that accepts used Christmas cards? Let me know in the comments!
That’s such a neat idea! I love re-purposing things.

I thought so, too. I hate to think of all the years I “wasted” Christmas cards.
